Easy Ham And Cheese Pancake Recipe

By Ben Cook

Pancakes are loved by just about everyone; whether enjoyed for breakfast, or just about whenever you get the craving. How you eat your pancakes is only limited by your own imagination. So if you like them but are looking to try something new, then this ham and cheese pancake recipe should greatly please your taste buds!

The ingredients included in this ham and cheese pancake recipe are measured for a batter made from scratch. Before you can start preparing your batter, you will need to pre-heat your skillet or griddle. You can grease it as well, either with flavorless cooking spray or some vegetable oil.

Before you begin, there are a few things you will need to pull together, only a few basic kitchen tools. You will need a skillet or griddle, a mixing bowl, a large spatula to help you flip those pancakes and a wooden spoon (any spoon will do though if you don't have a wooden one).

To achieve the best results, your needs to be warmed up before you can cook on it. Make sure to let it reach and stay at a temperature of 375F for at least ten minutes before cooking. If the skillet does not have a non-stick surface, spray it lightly with some flavorless cooking spray, or give it a little vegetable oil rub.

Be sure you possess everything you need; then get started. Place the flour, milk, egg and salt in your bowl. Combine all of those nicely, until your batter has a smooth texture to it. You can then incorporate the ham and the cheese and fold everything in nicely.

Allow the batter to rest for about 5 minutes before starting to cook. Drop spoonfuls of batter on the warm skillet or griddle, making sure to leave enough space between each for them to rise. Let them cook until you start noticing bubbles popping at the surface: they are ready to be flipped.

Quickly flip the pancakes. When they have achieved the desired color, they are ready to be served! If you cannot serve them right away for any reason, all you have to do is line up some paper towel on a plate and lay your pancakes on it. Just be sure not to cover them.

This ham and cheese pancake recipe is healthy and tasty, and will be sure to please your whole family. If you would wish to enhance it even more, add a pinch of cayenne pepper for extra heat! Serve with your favorite sauces.
